stevie nicks rehearsing 'wild heart' backstage, 1981

i'm just going to quote fellow youtube user, 007skydog, on this:

I flat out love her deeply. when I hear her voice singing my eyes tear up like I'm going to cry - I have no control of it, its crazy & embarassing sometimes cuz I'm 48 yr old blue collar factory guy who listens to rock & blues.... something inside of her comes out when she sings and it connects inside me... its like a golden white light that penetrates the soul I truly believe she must be a godess, seriously. she's a great songwriter but its not just that, her voice holds something wonderful.

honey i need

sometimes you just need honey...waves and frequencies and spectrums of them in gooey synth form. this is a huge favorite of mine from Spacemen 3 guitarist Sonic Boom's project, Spectrum. the synth organ repetition is so goddamn satisfying. Boom is really good at tacking simple layers on top of each other to form a delicate fucking mess.

i say this every year

but 2010 was really a rough one. thankfully mariah is here to usher me through the difficulties. no apologies for the multiple mariah posts. anyway, um, i can't believe this song is nearly as old as an almost legally imbibing college student. in my mind the 90s were just five years ago, the thought of VH1 doing an "i love the 90s" special seemed awkwardly premature, and my parents were still freaking out over Y2K, diligently hoarding gasoline and canned food. but actually, i'm 25 now living across the country from childhood suburbia and the only pleasant part of realizing that much time has passed is that i still really fucking love this song.
